L.I.F.E. Landfill Improvement for the Environment
Mission Statement
Our philosophy is bound in a mutual relationship between concerned citizens who want to make a difference in air quality.
WE BELIEVE in actively supporting and promoting the establishment of permanent community-owned open spaces in California areas.
WE BELIEVE in restoring natural habitats; implementing appropriate green energy production; free public access; and multi-use public recreational sites.
WE BELIEVE in advocating for ongoing financial support of the quality of life in impacted by detrimental open spaces.
WE BELIEVE in creating public appreciation and awareness through education and communication with the community, stakeholders, officials and other representatives.
WE BELIEVE in providing an opportunity for California Citizens to reach out and make a difference in our quality of life.
WE BELIEVE in inculcating a sense of individual responsibility to the family, community, state, and nation towards the environment.
Our Resolution is to support the CA Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 through the pursuit of improving air quality in California. In lieu of the Act we will raise awareness of the conditions impacting areas around known high emission zones.
The Palos Verdes Landfill Gas to Energy Center is located at the edge of the border of Torrance and Palos Verdes. The center is known as a major source polluter and Class 1 Toxic landfill. Our goal is to find ways to dramatically lower the air pollution emissions that are emitted from landfills like this and other pollution sources located throughout the LA region as well as the rest of the world.
Energy conservation is a way to lower emission. Lower emissions will create less pollution. We can do this through renewable energy sources such as wind and solar energy.
